Four ways to get people to take action on your website

Getting people to take action on your website can be a challenging and daunting task. You might have put all of your efforts into your inbound marketing strategy, but for some reason, you aren’t seeing people convert. Businesses often times run very large PPC campaigns (learn how to succeed in ppc advertising)  that gain a lot of traffic to their site. But for some reason, they aren’t converting. They aren’t taking advantage of your awesome offer and that could be really frustrating. As a Brooklyn digital marketing agency, we have worked especially hard to develop the ultimate guide to getting people to take action on your website, which you can download below. However, as a sample, we have four ways to get people to take action on your website, and help support your digital marketing strategy.

Create landing pages

People needs are specific, and with the Internet, they can find anything they want. Landing pages allow you to cater to people’s specific needs. Instead of seeing a general website with general products and services, they will find you through their specific web searches. For example, you may own a Pizzeria  But most people won’t Google just “pizza.” They’ll search “Pizza pie,” “NYC Pizza,” “Pepperoni pizza,” “Pizza near me,” and other specific terms. Create a landing page for each of the keyword phrases that lands people on your website, and then invite people to take some sort of action. For a Pizzeria, you’d want people to call as soon as possible, and maybe offer a discount on their next order. Cater your landing pages to your audience and make sure you use different keywords for your landing pages. Use images carefully

People like to look at other people. Images of good looking people are always enticing to the eye. Images with people gain more traction than images of things. Studies show that people especially like to look at images of groups of smiling, happy people. So make sure you utilize good looking people. However, make sure the images of the people are looking, or directing towards your offer. We tend to look at what other people are looking at, and this is true with people in photos. If your call to action is to sign up for an account, include an image of people looking at the sign-up form. Carefully consider the effect your images have on the overall feel of your website. Play to the emotions

A lot of effective marketing efforts have an emotional layer built in. Movies, music, and other successful media play to the emotions. So your website will be more successful if you find a way to reach visitors emotionally. For example, Domino’s Pizza ran a successful marketing campaign by capturing the fear of hunger: “We will be there in 30 minutes or less”. Which means that you and your loved ones will not go hungry… Such a message instills both confidence and relief in customers. Think about how you can use emotions to get people to take action. Make sure you use emotion but be classy about it. Don’t use scare tactics or bully people into taking action on your website. Once you figure out an angle, figure out how to incorporate that emotion into your website through both your content and your images.

Allow actionable options to your social media account

People love social media, people often like to share what they did on social media. So make sure to invite visitors to your social media pages on your landing page. When consumers “like” your posts or do something that reinforces your brand, they have a better chance of becoming loyal customers. People like surveys and most of the common social media sites make it easy for you to put together surveys. You can also start a viral marketing campaign that invites people to do your marketing for you. For example, you can invite people to fill out a survey, and the more people they recommend to take the survey, the bigger chance they’ll have of winning a special prize. Now this prize could be anything from an iPad or computer to providing your service for free. So the power of social media is really important and you should be able to use it to help promote your brand and allow your users to “join the conversation”.  Learn more about social media visibility.
