The Best Times for Your Business to Post on Social Media

Does it really matter what time you publish your business posts on social media? If you’re looking for the best return on your marketing investment, it does. You work hard to create meaningful blog posts, web content, and social media posts, and if you want the greatest impact pohttps://www.parkslopesoftworks.com/content-creation-servicesssible, you should be mindful about when you post.

When people scroll through their social media feeds, they start with the most recent posts, and often they’ll get distracted or have to do something else before they scroll very far. That’s why it’s important to publish your posts when your target customers are most likely to be on social media.

Different social media platforms are more active at different times of day and on different days of the week. Let’s take a look at each of the major platforms to find out about the best times for your business to post on social media.

Facebook

As of April 2018, Facebook had over 2.20 billion active users! That’s why it’s the top choice for most marketers. Should your business have a presence on Facebook? Probably so. The only exception would be if your customers really aren’t on this platform.

Who is on Facebook?

One in five Facebook page views takes place in the United States, and 76% of women and 66% of men are on the platform. Millions of businesses also have Facebook pages, so this platform can also be helpful for B2B companies.

Thursday and Friday are the days of the week with the most Facebook traffic, and the highest traffic occurs between 1 and 3 pm. You’ll potentially reach more consumers if you post during the highest traffic time. Try to avoid posting late at night or early in the morning. Most people are not on social media at these times and will miss your posts.

Instagram

This platform has grown rapidly in recent years, and in 2018 more than 70% of US Businesses have Instagram accounts.

Instagram hasn’t been around as long as Facebook, and people tend to use it differently. Instagram is a highly visual social media platform, and users tend to be younger. Most Instagram users (80%) follow at least one brand on the platform, and 67% of Gen Xers and 60% of Millennials say they’re more likely to make a purchase from a brand they follow on Instagram.

When are the best times to post to Instagram? Oddly, one of their highest traffic times is at 5 am on weekday mornings. Many people check their phones as soon as they wake up in the morning, so this can be a great time to schedule posts (unless you want to be up and working at that time). Sunday is the least engaging day for Instagram. Shoot for the middle of the work week early in the morning, at 11 am, and then again between 3 and 4.

Twitter

More than 350,000 tweets are sent every minute on Twitter, so it’s easy to feel lost on this platform. But did you know that Twitter is one of the best places to provide real-time customer service?

Because conversations are concise and conversation threads are easy to follow, this is a great place to respond to customer comments and questions. It’s also a great place to show potential customers how accessible you are, but you’ll need to be careful that you respond in a timely manner.

The best time to post on Twitter is Friday morning between 9 and 10. If you want to post every day, stick with the mornings. As with Instagram, Sundays see the lightest traffic on Twitter.
